Lake Texoma, Denison

D/FW Metroplex, Denison is the perfect place for a weekend excursion. The heart of the community is only four miles from lake Texoma with 580 miles of shoreline for sports and relaxation.

Downtown Denison has the perfect blend of art and history with twelve art galleries and four international artists and over 100,000 square feet of antique shops. A winery offers daily wine tastings and the opportunity to purchase locally produced award-winning wines. Coffee shops, boutiques, and other unique shops provide superb customer service. The Main Street Showcase has weekly live performances.

Be sure and visit Dwight D. Eisenhower’s Birthplace, Frontier Village, T.V. Munson Viticulture Center and the Red River Railroad Museum.

Annual events include the Arts & Wine Renaissance in March; Texoma Lakefest Regatta and Gala in April; North Texas' largest patriotic Memorial Day Parade; July 4th Fireworks Show & Extravaganza, US National Aerobatics Competition in September; Main Street Celebrate The Art of Living Festival and Kustom Kemps Car Shows in October; Quarterly Fine Art Tours, Grayson County Holiday Lights Tour from Thanksgiving through December 26th and Christmas Parade in December.

Excellent overnight accommodations include motels and unique bed and breakfast inns along with numerous fine-dining establishments to complete your get-a-way experience.
