Marshall, Texas Visitors Guide
A Texas Treasure
Whether you are looking for a slice of history that's been
lovingly restored or life in the fast lane... Marshall, Texas is the spot
you've been looking for.
Nestled in the lush green of East Texas,
but accessible by highway 59 north and south and 1-20 east and west,
Marshall shares its beauty, secrets and surprises with visitors
all year long.
Springtime in East Texas finds a nonstop assortment of brilliant
blooms that take your breath away. Fall brings a rich harvest of
colors that surprises travelers to these parts. Take foliage tours
to discover this spectacular time of year.
Marshall loves a party, so there is no shortage of festivals. Stagecoach
Days in May celebrates our history through home tours, parades,
arts and crafts and reenactments. Our Fire Ant Festival in
October is on the wild and wacky side and Wonderland of
Lights in November tops it off.
Nature-based tourism and all water activities are very popular
in this area. The moss-laden Cypress trees of Caddo Lake and
incredible bird life has been the backdrop for dozens of films
and your own photo album.
Outdoor enthusiasts find our abundant lakes ideal for hunting
and fishing. Bass are plentiful and the focus for several large
tournaments each year. Deer, turkey and duck hunting bring sportsmen
to the area from all corners of the country. Golfers are also in
luck with several great courses conveniently nearby.
Tree-lined neighborhoods of fine Victorian homes are sure
traffic-stoppers. One of the largest collections of these fine
structures can be found within a concentrated area. Bed and
breakfast accommodations also line these streets from another
era.
What a relaxing way to get away for a weekend or even longer.
Indulge yourself... let life’s fast pace pass you by as you
relax on a tree-lined veranda.
