the surrounding area, telling of the lives and fortunes of well-known
individuals in Texas history.
The Starr Mansion State Park is a meticulous example of
a living museum. Tour the house filled with fine pieces collected
through generations and stroll the grounds that are lush with azaleas
and a variety of indigenous trees.
The Michelson Museum of Art offers an extensive collection
of impressionist art through the works of Leo Michelson. In addition,
touring exhibits provide a constantly changing palette of art and
art objects.
Visit Wonderland of Lights, from Thanksgiving to New Year's
Eve, for an old-fashioned Christmas beyond your childhood dreams.
The 9,000,000 tiny white lights turn the city into a dreamland,
with our historic courthouse as its crown jewel.
