Navasota is centrally located only 18 miles to Bryan/College
Station,
22 miles to Brenham, 44 miles to Conroe & Huntsville and only
65 miles to Houston.

and highways dotted with bluebonnets and Indian
blankets to The
Wood Factory, featuring authentic Victorian millworks.
Visitors to the Navasota Historical District will appreciate
the ornate 19th Century architecture, antebellum and Victorian-style
homes, historic churches, The Horlock History
Center, beautiful
parks and nearby museums.
Navasota offers golfing, nearby fishing at Gibbons Creek Reservoir,
beautiful bed and breakfasts, and holds special events such as
the Go-Texan Days' Chili Cookoff, the Grimes
County Fair in June,
Navasota Blues Festival in August, and the Texas
Renaissance Festival in Plantersville on weekends in October and November. These and
other fun-filled celebrations, parades, dances and events allow
visitors the opportunity to glimpse Texas hospitality at its finest.
Only ten miles east of Navasota many sites dating from the Texas
Revolution can be found. Washington on the Brazos
going West and one of the most famous is Fanthorp Inn State
Park, which is a completely restored
1830's Stagecoach Inn with its own Red Concorde Stagecoach to the
East. Open to the public on weekends, Fanthorp offers stagecoach
rides on the second Saturday of each month.
