Attractions Guide: Things to Do and See
in Pearland
From swinging a five-iron on the city's finest golf courses to
swiping a credit card at fashion department stores or locally-owned
specialty shops, Pearland provides a quiet respite from the hustle-and-bustle
of the big city, but with metropolitan amenities just minutes away.
Whether you're visiting us for the day, a week, or a lifetime,
Pearland boasts more than 140 restaurants that will excite even
the most refined taste buds -- including Killen's
Steakhouse that was recently recognized by Tom Horan as one of Texas' Top
Steakhouses. So after a long day of adventures, settle down for
a nice comfortable meal in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Your
taste buds will thank you for it.
While you'll find a huge
selection of outdoor gear, the 150,000 sq. ft., Bass
Pro Shop is a tribute to the vast diversity of the Texas landscape as
each store takes on the flavor and atmosphere of the region in
which it is located. This store features a 18,000 gallon freshwater
aquarium, a 5,500 gallon touch pool, and an 11,500 gallon saltwater
aquarium in the store's restaurant, the Islamorada
Fish Company.
If you're itching to Shop, the Pearland
Town Center features
two fashion department stores - Dillard's and Macy's - plus the
world's largest bookseller, Barnes and Noble, and 300,000 square
feet of specialty shops and restaurants. The open-air lifestyle
center also includes residential units, office space, and a hotel;
it was designed as an exciting entertainment venue.
The planned WaterLights District is Pearland's newest attraction
that will feature retail boutiques, a fresh market, 10 restaurants,
two luxury hotels, a conference facility, a water wall, and a public
park that will feature the presidential busts of artist
David Addickes.
Golf enthusiast can take advantage of year-round opportunities
to test their skills at one of four golf courses in the Pearland
area. In July, National Golf Association professionals will compete
in the Texas Honing Open at Golfcrest Country
Club. Other courses
in the area include Southwyck Golf Club, Clear
Creek Golf Course and Country Place Golf Club.
