Trinkets to Treasures Resale Event 2017

Apr 08, 2017

The Junior League of Collin County is hosting its 28th Annual Trinkets to Treasures resale event on April 8th from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at Plano Centre. Admission is $5 for adults, children 10 and under free. Gently enjoyed items are collected from individuals throughout the community to be recycled as “treasures” for shoppers. Merchandise includes a variety of new and gently used merchandise including adult and children’s clothing, furniture, appliances, collectibles, home electronics, toys, sports equipment, office equipment, and much more. This is Collin County’s largest one-day resale event that serves as one of the major fundraisers for the Junior League of Collin County’s community impact initiatives in the areas family violence, children’s health, volunteerism, literacy, children and youth. More than 100 JLCC volunteers contribute their time to organize the sale. A unique aspect of the event is the Shopping Cards. The Junior League of Collin County gives out special Shopping Cards to local non-profit agencies to distribute to families in need. The card includes free admission for a family of four, plus $25 to use for purchases. Some of the agencies that have received these cards in the past include Allen Community outreach, Plano ISD, Project Hope, Big Brother-Big Sisters, Health Services of North Texas, Margaret’s Treehouse, Assistance Center of Collin County, Assistance League of Greater Collin County, Hope’s Door and Samaritan Inn. More than 600 shopping cards are distributed each year due to the generous donations by the community. To make a tax deductible contribution to the shopping card fund, visit JLCC Trinkets to Treasures. To donate gently used merchandise, please check online for guidelines, dates and locations, or email trinkets@jlcollincounty.org.
