Arrested Development & Tone Loc

Sep 16, 2017

Plano Stages is excited to announce this fabulous concert featuring Arrested Development and Tone Loc at McCall Plaza on Saturday, September 16th. Tone Loc soared from obscurity into pop stardom in 1989 when his hoarse voice and unmistakable delivery made the song “Wild Thing” a massive hit winning Grammy’s and countless other awards. The song Wild Thing was co-written by Marvin Young, better known as Young MC, as was the second single smash, “Funky Cold Medina.” The album “Loc-ed After Dark” became the second rap release ever to top the pop charts and one of the most popular of all time. Arrested Development are the true trailblazers within hip-hop music. It’s been twenty years since they slammed the gangsta dominated world of hip hop with defiant lyrics of hope. They became the first ever hip-hop artist to receive the “best new artist” Grammy. Money came in but not for precious stones and big cars. Instead, these pioneers took one big step for mankind by giving back and becoming the first African American artists to donate money to Nelson Mandela and the ANC. They used their voices and their status to the benefit of many underprivileged brothers and sisters around the world. For the last thirteen years, Arrested Development has performed concerts in literally every part of the world. Their shows are a celebration of life. Experiencing an Arrested Development concert is an uplifting and spiritual event wrapped into one big party. One show only. Food and beverage will be available for purchase.
