Always the first Saturday in October. ??Everyone's favorite day in Eastland Texas includes Ripfest with a 5K race, a large parade, vendor booths, bounce houses, pony rides, and tons of food! Starting bright and Early at 8 am join the Old Rip 5k and Kid's Fun Run in front of Siebert Elementary with Race Day Event Services and the Earl and Billye Bradley Wellness Center. This year we have a special if you are from a school district you get $5 off your entry fee, and if you have 5 or more runners (must turn in application and money together) you get an additional $5 off. 10 am kicks off the Old Rip Parade with floats from all over that want to show their businesses, clubs, and organizations to the community. Prizes are given to the top floats in various categories. Also during the parade, we will announce our Old Rip Coloring Contest winners. Get down to the square early to take advantage of good parking spots and seat to watch the parade. Bands will kick off at 11 am on the courthouse square. Bryan's "Old Rip" Car Show and tell will be in the First Baptist Church parking lot, which will be filled with classic vehicles.
