Rice Village is nestled in the heart of Houston and is one of the most beloved retail and mixed-use districts in the city of Houston located minutes away from Rice University, Midtown, Texas Medical Center, and the Museum District. This vibrant 16-block, 67 acre urban district includes more than 300 unique shops and some of the best dining restaurants Houston has to offer.
In the latest series of spirited, Instagram-worthy art additions around Houston, Rice Village brought the that same vibe to our popular shopping and dining destination. Rice Village has added several public art installations to this historic district such as vibrant, modernistic owl sculpture by California-based artist Nathan Mabry, an inspiring mural on Morningside Drive by Houston artist Mario Enrique Figueroa, Jr., better known as GONZO247. Additionally, on Amherst St., we’ve added a futuristic mural entitled “Space City” by local artist Michael C. Rodriguez which shows a female astronaut with the Houston skyline in the background.
