Bardwell Lake
More than half a million revelers chasing fun in the sun find it at this 3,500-acre lake each year. Camping, picnicking, swimming, boating, and water skiing are some of the most popular activities. The lake is also said to be the best-kept secret when it comes to fishing in Texas, offering excellent opportunities for white and hybrid bass, catfish, and crappie.

Bluebonnet Trails
Ennis is the home of the “Official Bluebonnet Trail of Texas,” which amounts to 40 drivable miles of gazing at the captivating state flower. The best viewing varies somewhat due to the year’s weather, but a typical route takes you north from downtown to the towns of Palmer, Bristol, and Crisp. Ennis Railroad and Cultural Heritage Museum

Texas Motorplex
The National Hot Rod Association’s first-ever “super track,” the Motorplex hosts the fastest, most heart-pounding drag racing events in the state of Texas. These include the famous NHRA Fall Nationals in October, when pros and amateurs compete for upwards of $2 million in prize money.
