You will not want to miss out on a GREAT weekend of Live Jazz and Art at the Katy Jazz Festival! World-renowned professional jazz artists, student jazz groups, and professional visual artworks are all part of this this weekend Festival. Supported by the City of Katy, in partnership with the Katy Independent School District, come enjoy a merge of jazz education, jazz entertainment, and visual art nestled 35 miles away from the bustling traffic of Houston, Texas!

Beginning on Friday, April 29, outstanding student Big Bands will be providing live concerts at 3, 4, 5, and 6 PM.  At 7:30 PM the Featured Evening Concert will showcase the talents of the MSM Jazz Orchestra, directed by Mr. Noe Marmolejo, featuring guest artist drummer, Will Kennedy, and the World-renown jazz artists of the Pamela York Trio. On Saturday, April 30, the day is filled with 3 different performance areas featuring student jazz Big Bands, student jazz combos, professional combos from throughout North America, as well as the FOTOFEST exhibit of ARTkaty hosted at the Katy Contemporary Arts Museum!

Saturday is capped off with the 2nd Featured Evening Concert of the Festival beginning at 7:30 p.m. with the Katy ISD All-Star Jazz Band, directed by Mr. Bruce Melville and concludes with this year’s HEADLINER group -- the internationally acclaimed YELLOWJACKETS

Just prior to each evening’s Feature Concerts, the Katy Jazz Festival is proud to present Mr. Horace Grigsby bringing his smooth vocalizations of many jazz standards in an informal concert!  Professional concerts throughout the day on Saturday will be presented in the Black Box Theatre by The Dennis Dotson Quintet, The Bob Minschen Trio, and The Henry Darragh Sextet!

Daily passes and Feature concert tickets may be purchased online, at the door, or in the hotel lobby of the Hilton Garden Inn during the dates of the event.
