Harbor House Hotel and Marina at Pier 21

Harbor House Hotel sits on the site of an early Galveston Steamship Terminal and, today, provides a unique vantage point for watching the activity of a working port. Harbor House is the hotel of choice for cruise ship passengers seeking pre- and post- cruise excursions on the island. In addition, this one of a kind property offers travelers a high-end experience located in walking distance to a wide array of attractions and nearby businesses. The 42-room hotel, located at Pier 21, completed a $1.7 million renovation in February 2014 giving rooms a bold new look and stunning appointments. The hotel’s guest rooms now offer an industrial motif, balanced with organic warmth created by all new lighting, flooring, furniture, bedding and bathrooms. All rooms are spacious and include a four-in-one built-in cabinet housing a refrigerator and microwave and serving as a dresser and desk. Rooms offer a 46” LED flat screen television, custom upholstered bedding, custom headboards, and Simmons® Pillow Top Mattresses. The rooms feature nautical themed photography printed on aluminum by Kayla Mitchell. She captured images from Galveston Island to create one-of-a-kind pieces that are unique to the hotel.

Just a few blocks away, guests will find The Grand 1894 Opera House, a Galveston stronghold designated as the Official Opera House for the State of Texas.

Harbor House offers free Wi-Fi in guest rooms and in the lobby area along with a complimentary Continental breakfast. Breakfast is available from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Monday through Friday and from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.  

The hotel has a courtesy shuttle that is available to transport guests to Hotel Galvez and Spa® on the beachfront and to The Tremont House. Additionally, Hotel Galvez is a just a five-minute walk to the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier.
