The Mr. South Texas Luncheon, held at the Laredo Country Club, honors one individual for their contributions to South Texas. Previous honorees include governors, members of Congress, ranchers, bankers, physicians, and educators, each recognized for his or her work on behalf of South Texas. The wide range of recipients guarantees an impressive list of international and national attendees. This year’s recipient is John Cornyn, United States Senator for Texas. He has distinguished himself as a leader by supporting important issues such as, bolstering the national defense, repairing the immigration system, and improving educational opportunities for all Texans.
