Juneteenth Heritage Celebration at Washington on the Brazos State Historic Site

Washington on the Brazos State Historic Site will celebrate the rich African American heritage and culture of Brazos Valley, past and present, with artifact exhibits; art displays; prominent guest speakers such as historians, former athletes and genealogists; living history Buffalo Soldiers and cowboys; church choir performances; food vendors; and more. Discount tour tickets for Independence Hall, Barrington Living History Farm and the Star of the Republic Museum are available. Washington on the Brazos State Historic is where 59 delegates met on March 2, 1836 to make a formal declaration of independence from Mexico, making it the very place "Where Texas Became Texas."
