Take an afternoon to explore the Texas City Museum — a history, culture, and heritage museum that tells the story of Texas City through compelling photos, eye-witness accounts, and artifacts dating back to the 1800s. You’ll gain an appreciation for an innovative city that moved past the darkest days of the Texas City Disaster to emerge as a vibrant cultural center, a powerhouse for industry, and one of the busiest ports in the nation.

If you’re visiting with kids, The Children’s Discovery Room entertains and engages young minds, while educating inquisitive minds of all ages about the petroleum and chemical industries. On Saturdays, check out Galveston County Model Railroad Clubs award-winning train displays on the museum’s second floor.
