1st Cavalry Division Museum

3rd Armored Cavalry Museum
The 3rd Armored Cavalry Museum tells the remarkable story of the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, America’s longest-serving armored cavalry regiment. Various indoor and outdoor exhibits, including a stunning collection of military vehicles, retrace the regiment’s history from its establishment as the Regiment of Mounted Rifleman in 1846 to today.

Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area (BLORA)
For thrills and spills, few places are better than the Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area. Two 300-foot waterslides, a swim beach, a marina, a paintball course, mountain biking trails, and picnic areas can all be found within the recreation area. Canoes, kayaks, knee boards, and wake boards can be rented at the Recreation Equipment Checkout Center, located within 15 minutes of the lake. BLORA sits on the southwestern shore of Belton Lake, a more than 12,000 acre reservoir that offers great bass, catfish, and sunfish angling.

Courses of Clear Creek
The Courses of Clear Creek is a 27-hole championship golf course set among the rolling hills and scenic forests of central Texas. Each of the golf club’s nine-hole courses feature four sets of tees and a state-of-the-art grass surface. A full pro shop, practice greens, and a clubhouse offer everything you need while you’re at the course.

Hills of Cove Golf Course
Copperas Cove, just west of Killeen, is home to the Hills of Cove Golf Course. This 18-hole, par-71 course features nine magnificent par-four and four par-five holes that incorporate the gorgeous central Texas landscape to make a playing experience as challenging as it is beautiful. The course, operated by the City of Copperas Cove, is open to the public. Tee times can be arranged by calling the golf course.

Mayborn Science Theater
The Mayborn Science Theater is a state-of-the-art planetarium situated on the campus of Central Texas College in Killeen. Laser light and planetarium shows are held in the theater, a 60-foot dome shaped to provide a view of the stars that no one in an urban area would ever see. Fishing and boating enthusiasts will find much to enjoy about Stillhouse Park, a park that is situated along Stillhouse Hollow Lake’s 58 miles of shoreline. A swim area, basketball courts, and picnic spots are all within the park, and canoe and kayak rentals are available nearby. The park is open to the public year-round.

Stonetree Golf Club
Stonetree Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course that offers players a fun and challenging experience. Each hole features four sets of tees to accommodate golfers of all skill levels, as well as sand bunkers and water traps. Vive Les Arts Theatre
Catch a performance at Vive Les Arts Theatre, a community performing arts center in Killeen. Classic musicals such as Young Frankenstein and Mary Poppins, as well as contemporary hits, are performed during the show season, which begins in October and ends in mid-August.
