Grimes County GO TEXAN Weekend
Yee haw! Grimes County’s tasty GO TEXAN weekend features different culinary cook-offs, from barbecue and pinto beans to bloody Mary cocktails. There’s also live music, a cornhole contest, concessions, and more. Kick up your heels and enjoy this yummy event, which celebrates local agriculture and raises scholarships for students.

Texas Birthday Bash
Don’t miss two days of Texas-size family fun at the annual Texas Birthday Bash in historic downtown Navasota. Enjoy back-to-back bands and sample delicious eats from local food vendors. Shop for eclectic finds at artisan booths, feel the thrill of the wild west with a mock gunfight, and take the youngsters to the petting zoo and Kids Zone.

Navasota Kid Fish
Teach the kiddos to fish at beautiful Patout Pond Park at this annual family event. Navasota Parks & Recreation staff show young anglers how to tie knots, cast lines, identify fish, and of course, haul in the big ones. A fishing contest takes place with trophies awarded across age categories.

Sounds of Summer Concert Series
Grab your lawn chair and come on down to this free summer concert series held outside Navasota City Hall on the last Fridays of June, July, and August. Dance and groove to live music and enjoy food and drinks from local vendors.

Grimes County Fair
Who can resist a peek at fluffy bunnies and adorable piglets? Celebrate the agricultural heritage of Navasota and the surrounding area at the Grimes County Fair held over a week and a half every summer. Along with livestock judging, this classic county fair includes an agricultural products sale, food, rodeo, and live music.

Navasota Freedom Festival
It’s an Independence Day celebration like you’ve never seen. The downtown Navasota festivities kick off with the Red, White, and Blue Parade comprised of cars, floats, ATVs, and even bicycles and wagons. Live music and dancing are up next, followed by colorful fireworks that light up the Texas night sky. Happy 4th, y’all!

Sounds of Summer Concert Series

Treats on the Street
When Halloween rolls around, the Navasota Police Department pulls out all the stops with a safe and festive celebration for the kids. Bring your goblins, ghosts, and ghouls for trick-or-treating down the 200 block of Holland Street, where businesses are delighted to distribute candy. Prizes for best costume are awarded across multiple kids’ age groups. It’s a spooktacular good time!

Texas Renaissance Festival
Hear ye! Hear ye! Step back into time and enjoy gallantry, art, romance, and food fit for kings and peasants at the country’s largest Renaissance festival, held just 20 minutes from Navasota. Explore endless activities and experiences across nine themed weekends featuring swashbuckling pirates, Scottish Highlanders, elves and fairies and more. Texas Renaissance Festival
Attracting more than half a million visitors annually, the Texas Renaissance Festival, aka, Ren Fest, is the country’s largest such gathering, featuring Renaissance-inspired food, street entertainers, music, art, costumes, and so much more. Nine themed weekends make it possible to attend more than once and still enjoy a completely new experience. Ren Fest is an explosion of sensory delights served up Texas-style.

Veterans Day Parade
Navasota celebrates veterans at this fun-filled annual community parade that rolls at Brule Elementary School, travels along Washington Avenue, and concludes just past the Railroad Street crossing. After the parade, enjoy the raffle, silent auction, and yummy eats at the VFW Post to raise money for veterans.
