Bay Area Houston has an abundance of coastal charm and a laid-back atmosphere that is a nice counterpoint to all the hustle and bustle of nearby Houston – Clear Lake. Although it’s a quiet retreat compared to one of the largest cities in the country, that doesn’t mean there’s nothing going on here. Yachty Gras Boat Parade
For one night in January, extravagantly decorated boats float down Clear Creek Channel in what is known as the country’s largest Mardi Gras boat parade. The parade takes place the Saturday night before Fat Tuesday, and admission is free.

Keels & Wheels Concours d’Elegance
If you’re a vintage car lover, get yourself over to Seabrook in late April for the Keels & Wheels Concours d’Elegance. Check out the amazing early 20th-century race cars and classic wooden boats and stick around for the raffle car drawing. Tickets to the car and boat show in Seabrook are available online.

Texas Outlaw Challenge
Do you have the need for speed? Find your way to Seabrook for the Texas Outlaw Challenge, a.k.a. the largest performance boat event in Texas. The four-day festival has it all: live music, car and boat shows, and plenty of great food. However, the main event is the 100 MPH shootout, a competition to see which high-powered boat can reach the fastest speed.

Celebration Seabrook

Christmas Boat Lane Parade
Kick off the holiday season with a very Bay Area Houston-style celebration: the Christmas Boat Lane Parade. For one evening in mid-December, thousands of people flock to Clear Lake to watch as more than 100 colorful boats sail the Kemah-Seabrook channel. Head to the Kemah Boardwalk to see the parade in all its glory.
