Das Festival of Kendall
Held Father’s Day weekend in Boerne’s Main Plaza, celebrates the Hill Country’s German heritage with a festive mix of polka music, dachshund races, stein-holding, wheelbarrow contests, and family games. This fun-filled, free three-day event also features live music, a colorful parade, food vendors, cold beer, and yard-game classics like watermelon-eating, egg-toss, and sack races. Organized by a local nonprofit, the festival raises money for community causes like Special Olympics, veterans, children’s services, and food pantries, making it a meaningful kickoff to summer in Kendall County.

Kendall County Fair

Hill Country Mile Rod Run
The Hill Country Mile Rod Run takes over historic Main Street in downtown Boerne every October, showcasing hundreds of vintage American cars, trucks, and motorcycles (1975 and older), along with a Friday-night cruise-in, live music, food, vendors, and local craft beer. Boerne’s Dickens on Main transforms the Hill Country Mile into a vintage holiday wonderland every Thanksgiving weekend, with historic-styled décor, festive street performers, live music, snow flurries on Main Street, and appearances by Santa. Oma’s Christmas Craft Fair

Weichnachts Weekend
Also during the first weekend in December, experience the magic of the holidays with Boerne's time honored tradition! Festivities start Friday evening, with a Wassail Walk and Caroling Contest along the Hill Country Mile. The highlight of Weihnachts Weekend is the Weihnachts Parade, when downtown lights up with nearly 100 floats spreading holiday cheer along Boerne’s Main Street. Bring a chair if you'd like to sit along the parade route, or enjoy strolling up and down the Hill Country Mile all evening! The shops, breweries, bistros and more will be open late and be sure to make reservations early for meals and lodging during these busy nights!
