While Eagle Pass is a fun spot year-round, coming during a special event can turn a great trip into one that’s truly unforgettable. Residents are proud of their cultural heritage, and many of the events are timeless celebrations with roots from previous generations of early settlers and immigrants to the area. February

La Cabalgata Internacional La Grande
Cowboys and cowgirls saddle up every winter for a week-long ride from the Camino Real International Bridge to San Antonio for the city’s Stock Show and Rodeo. Come join them if you’re hardy enough, or just come see them off.

October

International Nacho Festival
Eagle Pass’ sister city Piedras Negras is the birthplace of the nacho. In the second week of October, the town celebrates their contribution to global cuisine with live music, artworks, cultural activities, and a “world’s biggest nacho” contest.

Christmas on Main Street
Ring in the holiday season at this fun family event that sees Main Street become an outdoor Christmas party complete with live music, caroling, dancing, crafts, an appearance from Mr. Claus, and more.
