This 3,264-acre reservoir in southeast San Antonio offers boating and watersport activities, as well as excellent fishing opportunities for channel catfish, red drum, and striped bass. In the public access park, you’ll find good shoreline access, as well as campsites, picnic areas, and boat ramps.

Kids of all ages will find something to entertain them at this city park, from the playground to the sports courts and butterfly garden. The park also hosts a number of fun annual events throughout the year, including the Christmas tree lighting festivities and Bluebonnet Fest.

La Vernia Heritage Museum
Explore late-19th century pottery, antique firefighter equipment, photos of the 1893 San Antonio & Gulf Shore Railroad, and more at this interesting museum. Stop by on the first and third Saturday of each month, or make an appointment to tour the museum. Admission is free but donations are welcomed.
