Hop aboard the Grapevine Vintage Railroad! Grapevine was an early stop on the Cotton Belt Railroad and that history is kept vividly alive today. The Grapevine Vintage Railroad, powered either by an 1896 steam engine named “Puffy” or by a diesel engine named “Vinny,” features 1920s-style coaches that give riders a taste of travel in days gone by.
Most weekends throughout the year, riders are treated to a 21-mile round trip excursion to the Fort Worth Stockyards, departing Grapevine’s Cotton Belt Depot at 1 p.m. with an estimated arrival in the Stockyards at 2:30 p.m. The return trip to Grapevine departs the Fort Worth Stockyards at 4:15 p.m. with an estimated return to Grapevine at 5:45 p.m. The Trinity River Run departs the Stockyards most Saturdays and Sundays at 2:45 p.m. with an estimated return to the Stockyards at 3:45 p.m.
And on Saturdays and Sundays from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day weekend, don’t miss your chance to see the Great Train Robberies and help the deputies apprehend the outlaws.
