Annual Powwow
Albama-Coushatta Tribe --- oldest Indian reservation in TX. Call 936-563-1100 for event information. Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas -

  • Visit Lake Tombigbee Campgrounds --- 26 acre lake with camping sites, hook-ups, rental cabins and tipis.
  • Children’s Powwow --- Last Saturday in January
  • Annual Powwow --- First weekend in June
  • Independence Day Music Festival --- July
  • Fast Pitch Softball Tournament --- Labor Day weekend
  • Native American Arts & Crafts ---First weekend in December

Big Thicket National Preserve --- a nature and bird watchers paradise.

  • hiking/cycling trails, along with camping opportunities.

Lake Livingston
Lake Livingston --- Second largest lake in TX (93,000+ acres)

  • Visit Lake Livingston State Park or other area facilities for camping, rv hookups, boating, fishing, a variety of water sports and other activities.
  • Polk County July 4th Fireworks Show over Lake Livingston (Onalaska area).  Bring your lawn chairs and your blankets to watch this amazing display over the water --- come early to reserve a good spot.  This show can be seen from the water or from the shore.  City of Onalaska -

  • Livingston Trade Days --- this monthly outdoor market is a treasure hunters’ delight, held on the weekend before the Third Monday. 
  • Outdoor Expo in March
  • Kid Fishing Frenzy in April
  • Spring Yard Sale each May
  • Christmas in July
  • September Fall Yard Sale Extravaganza
  • October Scarecrows, Scaredy Cats and Pumpkin Patches.  Shop at Trade Days, visit the area merchants and take advantage of the decorations and photo ops in the area.
  • November Hunting Widow’s Shopping Spree (first weekend in November) and Downtown Community Garage Sale. 
  • December Christmas Light Displays, Lighted Parade & Hometown Christmas (2nd weekend in December).  People come from near and far to see the lighted displays spread around the City of Livingston and to watch the lighted parade.
