In the Middle of it All
Located just 20 minutes south of Downtown Houston, and just 10 miles south of Houston's Hobby Airport, a visit to Pearland will put you "In the Middle" of all the metropolitan area's fine attractions. This fast-growing city has transitioned from a road-side stop on Texas 288 to a one of area's largest suburbs with the distinction of being located in Brazoria County "Where Texas Began," with Stephen F. Austin's original 300 settlers.
Pearland is fast becoming a shopping mecca, with the addition of two open-air lifestyle shopping centers that include high-end retailers, specialty shops, fine dining, entertainment districts and residential condominiums. The Pearland Town Center (opening August 2008) and the Waterlights District -- featuring the presidential busts of artist David Addickes - join the more than 140 restaurants in providing travelers a distinctive experience while staying in one of Pearland's fine hotels.
Sports enthusiasts are finding themselves returning again and again for annual events such as the Pearland Classic Basketball Tournament (April), Nike Volleyball Classic (August/September), and the Texas Honing Open (July/August), played at the recently-renovated Golfcrest Country Club. Weekend golfers looking to add a new course to their rotation can score tee times at Clear Creek Golf Club, Southwyck Golf Club, and Country Place Golf Course.
Outdoor aficionados from bird watchers to fisherman can take advantage of the areas close proximity to some of Texas' finest birding and offshore fishing opportunities. Gearing up for these expeditions is as easy as visiting Wild Birds Unlimited, Academy Sports & Outdoors and the new 150,000 sq. ft. Bass Pro Shop.
We hope to see you in Pearland soon!
