Wichita Falls, Texas
Find Yourself in the Falls

The City of Wichita Falls, TX is comfortably nestled in the North East corner of the Panhandle/Plains area of North Texas. Wichita Falls is an economically progressive city, home to commerce and industry with worldwide interests.

Statue by sculptor Jack Steven
By most accounts, Wichita Falls can be summed up in two words - pleasant and comfortable. This is a family-oriented city conveniently located within two hours of major metropolitan areas: Dallas/Ft. Worth and Oklahoma City. Wichita Falls is linked to major cities in the region by Interstate 44, US Highways 82, 281, 277, 287 and Texas State Route 79. Wichita Falls has a population of approximately 107,000, is the county seat of Wichita County and is considered the population hub of North Texas. Thousands of additional people outside Wichita Falls commute into the city daily for work, shopping and entertainment.

Wichita Falls is the site of Midwestern State University, Vernon College Wichita Falls Campus and Wayland Baptist University Wichita Falls Campus. We are also home to the finest military installation in the country, Sheppard Air Force Base. Through Sheppard's Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program, Wichita Falls has significant international flavor.

Once here, you'll find a city full of year-round activities and events. Culture abounds throughout the city with the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre, Backdoor Theatre, Wichita Theatre Performing Arts Center, Kemp Center for the Arts, the Wichita Falls Museum of Art at MSU and many more. You'll also find beautiful art and sculptures located throughout our city. The Mane Event features more than 40 life-size fiberglass horses painted by local artists each with a distinctively different theme.

Hotter 'N Hell Bike Race
Hotter 'N Hell Bike Race
Wichita Falls is also the site of some of the best events in the state of Texas such as Ranch Roundup, Hotter 'N Hell Hundred, Texas Oklahoma Junior Golf Tournament, Falls Fest Outdoor Festival and Holiday in the Falls. While you're here, step outside and enjoy our 13-mile long hike and bike trail that winds through neighborhoods and attractive streams. Other attractions include Castaway Cove Waterpark, City of Wichita Falls Skate Park, River Bend Nature Center and Butterfly Conservatory, college sporting events, 2 community golf courses, the Wichita Falls Winery, plus 2 Casinos just across the Red River!

There's always something going on at the Multi-Purpose Events Center, from concerts and exhibitions to Wichita Falls Wildcats Hockey. MPEC includes convention facilities, 10,000 seat arena and agricultural building located conveniently in downtown Wichita Falls.

As you can see, with so much going on and something for everybody, it's easy to "Find Yourself in the Falls"…
