1. Audie Murphy Statue Walk through history. The downtown Historical Walking Tour tells colorful stories from Greenville's past. Pick up a brochure at the Greenville Chamber or from any downtown merchant.

2. Hear the music. Whatever your musical taste - we've got it: the Dallas Symphony Orchestra (classical and pop), the Greenville Entertainment Series (classical, pop, country), The Threadgill Concert Series (Texas country), Texas A&M-Commerce Music Department (recital and musical theatre), Follies (musical-comedy revue) and country and gospel performances by local artists.

3. Find inner peace. Contemplate the Peace Garden's larger than life sculpture "Peace in the World", filled with angels representing ethnic groups from around the globe.

4. Taste some Texas cooking. Barbecue, chicken-fried steak, Tex-Mex, fried catfish-find them all at area restaurants.

5. Thump a melon. Farmer's Market offers local produce, fresh-cut flowers, honey, soaps and crafts every Saturday from May to October.

6. Explore and learn. Explore the days when cotton was king at the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum. Learn about WW II's most decorated soldier, Audie Murphy, and find out why Jimmy Stewart portrayed local ball player Monty Stratton on the silver screen.

7. Take a wagon ride. In December, ride a horse-drawn wagon down historic Park Street to see the beautiful holiday lighting displays.
