H-E-B 4th of July Family Fun Fest
Jul 04, 2017
Celebrate Independence Day at the H-E-B 4th of July Family Fun Fest at Miller Park (1919 North 1st Street). Enjoy plenty of family fun, food, live music, and of course a spectacular fireworks show. “This event brings the entire community together for a wonderful, patriotic, and fun-filled evening. We are thrilled to be hosting an event that celebrates our freedom,” said Ken Cicora, Temple Parks and Leisure Services Director. “The July 4th celebration at Miller Park began as a Temple tradition in 1998 and, with the exception of having to cancel last year’s event due to the drought, has been held annually at the park.”
Festivities start at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, July 4th when the games and activities open – including inflatables, a mechanical bull, and other fun activities. The splash pad and playground will also be open. Citizens for Progress will also open the food and beverage vendors at this time. “We are excited to offer a wide variety of food options to go along with this great community event!” said Citizens for Progress representative, Judy Morales.
At 6:00, Temple Mayor Bill Jones will kick off the patriotic day and the opening ceremonies with an address to the crowd.
A great music lineup is scheduled for the evening:
6:30 - One vs. All – (Modern Rock)
7:30 – Wild Horses Band – (Country)
At 9:30, the spectacular fireworks show, sponsored by H-E-B, will begin.
Everyone is encouraged to bring a blanket and lawn chair and join the community on July 4th at Miller Park.
“The fireworks display will be bigger and better than ever! We hope everyone is able to come out and enjoy this great free event! We are very thankful to H-E-B for their commitment to this wonderful community event,” said Cicora.
