Celebrating Texas Traditions
Texas Folklife Festival
WHAT:
Every summer the UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures celebrates what it means to be Texan. The museum’s annual Texas Folklife Festival is a three-day event featuring some 250 cultural organizations, 60 expert artisans, six stages of music and entertainment, and a menu of more than 100 authentic cultural foods.
The annual showcase of Texan cultures has continued for the past 45 summers with the help of dedicated organizations and communities such as the Belgians, Greeks, Lebanese, Buffalo Soldiers re-enactors, chuck wagon cooks, bagpipers, whittlers, bread bakers, hula dancers, pho cooks and dozens of others.
