From Recipe to Reality: A Foodpreneur Table

Mar 05, 2019

Do you have a secret sauce or special family recipe? Potential foodpreneurs are invited to attend a food-product workshop on March 5, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, at the UTRGV at Resaca Village, located 1601 E. Price Rd. in Brownsville. “From Recipe to Reality: A Foodpreneur Round Table” is a panel-led discussion on food idea-generation; food industry-rules; food product-testing; and best practices from experienced foodpreneurs. Guest speakers include the City of Brownsville Public Health Department Food Division; A & B Labs; and LGI Foods. 956 BBQ Rub has also been invited. “This session is designed for individuals who need further information on the first steps to commercializing a food product. If you have a unique recipe or are considering foodpreneurship as a way to launch a business, this introductory session will give you some insight on what factors to consider before doing so,” shares Arturo Gonzalez, a Senior Business and Trade Advisor with the UTRGV Small Business Development Center (SBDC). This session is hosted by the UTRGV SBDC with partnership support from the UTRGV Entrepreneurship & Commercialization Center and through sponsorship support from the UTRGV Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center. There is no fee to attend, but pre-registration is required. To pre-register for this workshop or for more information, please call the UTRGV SBDC at (956) 665-7535.
