Kerrville Chalk Festival

Oct 17, 2020 - Oct 18, 2020

The Kerrville Chalk Festival is a family-oriented community event in the heart of downtown on Peterson Plaza. Thousands of attendees will watch in awe as artists create more than 65 beautiful sidewalk murals at the Festival. The two-day event will also include free creative activities for children, live music on stage, and food and drink from established food truck vendors. There are no admission or activity fees thanks to generous sponsors and more than 150 volunteers. The Festival will happen rain or shine. Traced back to 16th century Italy when wandering artists used their chalks to transform pavement into classical works of religious art, street painting has retained its appeal through the centuries. Crowds still gather to watch as fine works of art emerge. The drawings last only until the next rain, but the spirit of the art form captivates new audiences each year and inspires lasting memories.
