Our "word wranglers" are talented authors from all over the state of Texas who come to Giddings to share their passion for literature at the Texas Word Wrangler Book Festival on the fourth Friday-Saturday in September at the Giddings Public Library. (Sep 29-20, 2023) When not speaking, authors will be available at their booths to sell their books, sign autographs, and take pictures. Various book readings and talks are scheduled throughout the day Friday. There are a wide range of book genres including: murder-mystery, fantasy, science fiction, cookbooks, self-help books, junior fiction, and picture books. Many local schools bring students to meet the authors, learn about the writing process, and inspire them to love reading and writing.
