Shawn Barker’s remarkable portrayal of Johnny Cash in his “Man In Black” show brings the true character and spirit of the legendary musician to life, captivating audiences with his striking resemblance, baritone voice, and spot-on mannerisms. Having performed over 1,000 shows in 12 countries since his debut in 2004, Barker’s journey from a working-class suburb of St. Louis to becoming a celebrated tribute artist wasn’t straightforward. After serving in the Army, Barker honed his musical skills while working as a carpenter, drawing inspiration from icons like Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly. While initially portraying Elvis, Barker’s true calling as Johnny Cash became evident during an audition for a Hollywood production, solidifying his path to becoming one of America’s foremost tribute artists.
