The Bicentennial Bash
Oct 02, 2025
The City of Gonzales is thrilled to announce the Gonzales Bicentennial Bash, a landmark celebration happening Thursday, October 2, 2025, commemorating 200 years of Gonzales, Texas and the exciting debut of Texas Legacy in Lights.
Join us in honoring a town rich with history, pride, and Texas spirit.
As the original capital of Green DeWitt’s colony, Gonzales holds a pivotal place in Texas history. Founded in 1825, it was one of the earliest Anglo-American settlements and played a vital role in the Texas Revolution. Known as the "Lexington of Texas," it was the site of the first battle of the Texas Revolution in 1835, where settlers stood their ground against Mexican forces with the now-famous cry, "Come and Take It”.
The Bicentennial Bash promises to be an evening of unforgettable fun, honoring Gonzales’ deep roots while embracing its bright future.
