Highland Lakes Creative Arts is proud to announce that the Paint the Town Plein Air Festival will return to Marble Falls, Texas, April 19–25, 2026. The week-long event celebrates the timeless art of plein air painting with nationally recognized artists capturing the natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Adding to the excitement, Highland Lakes Creative Arts is honored to welcome acclaimed landscape painter Kathleen B. Hudson as the 2026 festival’s guest judge. A Signature Member of Plein Air Painters of America and a Fellow of the American Society of Marine Artists, Hudson is known for her luminous oil paintings and masterful use of light and atmosphere. Her work has been featured on the cover of PleinAir Magazine and in numerous national publications. “We are thrilled to bring Kathleen’s expertise and artistic insight to this year’s festival,” said [HLCA representative]. “Her presence elevates the experience for participating artists and collectors alike.” Throughout the week, juried artists will paint outdoors across Marble Falls and the Highland Lakes region, culminating in public events including the popular Quick Draw competition, live painting demonstrations, and a ticketed awards reception and art sale.
