The Museum features a permanent exhibit that uses artifacts, documents, photographs, and videos from the Library's extensive collection to capture the key decisions and events of the Presidency of George W. Bush. The permanent exhibit includes interactive features, such as a Decision Points Theater that allows visitors to learn even more about the decision-making process and policies. The Museum includes features, such as a full-sized Oval Office and a Texas Rose Garden.
The architectural signature of the Library and Museum is Freedom Hall. At a height of 67 feet, the Hall encases a one-of-a-kind, 360-degree, high definition video wall that orients visitors to the exhibit and depicts a montage of the 44 United States' Presidents.
The Library and Museum features a Presidential records research center, multiple classrooms, and a second gallery as well as cases in the main lobby for temporary exhibits.
The Library and Museum is housed inside the George W. Bush Presidential Center. Located on the campus of Southern Methodist University, five miles north of downtown Dallas, Texas, the Presidential Center is a state-of-the-art facility located prominently on a 23 acre site. The Center is funded by the George W. Bush Foundation. Robert A. M. Stern Architects designed the Center, Manhattan Construction Company provided construction management services, and Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates provided the landscape architecture. The facility received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification for design and construction; the first Presidential Library and Museum to do so.
