San Antonio Botanical Garden

History

Opened in 1980, the 38-acre San Antonio Botanical Garden is in the heart of urban San Antonio.  Its beautiful hilltop setting welcomes guests to colorful floral displays, true-to-Texas native areas, and futuristic glass pyramids filled with exotic plants from around the world.  Art, architecture, music and theater delight visitors in exciting programming throughout the year, inspiring all ages to connect with the world of plants.  Tourists will enjoy taking a "walk across Texas" and then having a relaxing lunch in the 1896 Carriage House Bistro.
