The Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) is a world-class art museum in Beaumont. Within its walls, art-lovers will find Texas art, folk art, modern works, and pieces from as far back as the 1800’s in both permanent and temporary collections, as well as a variety of educational programs and hands-on events that are fun for the whole family. Below you’ll find information on the hours of operation and recurring special events held at the museum each year.

Monday – Friday: 9 AM – 5 PM
Saturday: 10 AM – 5 PM
Sunday: Noon – 5 PM

Quarterly (February, May, August & October)

Family Arts Day

Held four times each year, Family Arts Day is a free, family-friendly event inspired by AMSET's current exhibitions. Visitors of all ages can enjoy hands-on art activities, gallery experiences, live entertainment, raffles, and other creative activities designed to encourage artistic exploration. Each event features a new theme that corresponds with the museum's seasonal exhibitions.


Annual

Protégé High School Art Competition and Exhibition

For more than three decades, AMSET's annual Protégé program has encouraged and recognized talented 12th-grade artists from across Southeast Texas. Student artwork is showcased in a special exhibition at the museum, celebrating creativity while providing young artists with valuable recognition and exhibition experience.


Summer

Summer ArtVentures Camp

Each summer, children ages 5–14 can participate in AMSET's Summer ArtVentures Camp. Taught by professional artists and art educators, the week-long half-day camps introduce young artists to a variety of creative techniques and materials through fun, age-appropriate projects. Multiple class options are available for different age groups, and registration opens each spring.


Year-Round Educational Programs

AMSET offers a variety of educational programs throughout the year for children, students, and the community. Programs include Art After School, Art-To-Go, and Odom Junior Docents, all designed to provide engaging, hands-on art experiences both at the museum and throughout Southeast Texas. Free guided tours are also available for groups with advance reservations.
