Panhandle Plains Historical Museum Hours and Admission Prices
Explore a fascinating collection of North Texas history at the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum in Canyon. The museum is closed Sundays, New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

Free General Admission Offers:
- Bank of America's Museums on US - Bank of America and Merrill Lynch cardholders enjoy free admission on the first full weekend of every month. A Bank of America or Merrill Lynch credit or debit card, as well as a picture ID, must be presented for one free admission.

- Dickson-Allen Foundation - First Sunday of the Month
- Blue Star Museums: Free admission to active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
- Entrance to the grounds is always free while the museum is open.

Panhandle-Plains Invitational Western Art Show and Sale
This annual event features artwork from established and recognized artists, depicting portrayal of life in the American West, its landscapes and its people. Come to look, come to buy! It's your chance to own a piece of high-quality art depicting local life and history. First week in March.
Night at PPHM
Explore the museum after dark and see what springs to life! Bring a flashlight to this family-fun event and look for working frontiersmen in Pioneer Town, historical figures and even a talking dinosaur. First weekend in June.
Llano Cemetery Tour by Twilight
Walk through Amarillo's oldest cemetery to hear museum guides tell stories of Llano people and legends who lie at rest there. A fun hay ride takes visitors through areas of the cemetery grounds not covered in the walking with more tales of the area's history. Mid-October.
Christmas Open House
This family event welcomes the holiday season, 1890s-style, as costumed characters in Pioneer Town, Santa and Mrs. Claus, storytellers tell tales of Chiristmases past. Musical entertainment, children's crafts and activities, singing choirs and performers keep the season merry and fun! First weekend in Dec.
