Splash Aquatics Park
Splash Aquatics Park
During the summer months, take the kids to Splash Aquatics Park for a fun day in the sun. Bedford Splash includes three different pools: the tot pool, the leisure zero grade entry pool, and a multi-purpose recreation pool. Each pool has unique features. Bedford Splash also offers "The Tiki Hut" (a concession stand), restrooms with showers and lockers, a family restroom, and shaded eating areas. Boys Ranch Park & Activity Center
The expansive Boys Ranch Park offers an urban oasis in which to relax, enjoy the trails and maybe do a little fishing. This 68-acre city park is the jewel of the Bedford Parks system. The park has a small urban lake with a spray fountain, a 4/10th of a mile jogging path around the lake, youth baseball and soccer fields, sand volleyball courts, tennis courts and Splash waterpark. The "BRAC" offers classrooms for rental use, a fitness room, restroom and shower facility, a game room and a common entry for the pool and center. There are picnic tables, grills and covered pavilions throughout the park as well as a playground for the physically challenged, a roller hockey court and a fishing pier.

Old Bedford School

Old Bedford School
In 1914, taxpaying citizens of Bedford Common School District voted overwhelmingly to issue bonds to finance the construction of a new school. When completed in 1915, the 2-story brick school was an imposing landmark and much of the heart and soul of the community was bound up in the school. The school served the community's educational needs until 1969. Beautifully restored, the Old Bedford School is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and adaptively reused as an educational and cultural community center. The historic school hosts tours, concerts and murder mystery dinners. It is a wonderful setting for family reunions, weddings and corporate meetings as well.

Northeast Tarrant County Civil War Memorial
Our newest treasure is the Northeast Tarrant County Civil War Memorial. It sits on the grounds of the Bedford Church of Christ on Bedford Road. The memorial honors by name veterans of both armies during the Civil War who lived, owned land, died or are buried in Northeast Tarrant County. At least 19 of the veterans listed on the memorial are buried at the adjacent Bedford Cemetery, a Texas historical site. Every city in modern day Northeast Tarrant County is represented.

Special Events
Bedford's legendary Independence Day Celebration boasts one of the largest fireworks display in the area. It's a day filled with fun, food and entertainment and fun and it's free!

The Bedford Blues & BBQ Festival on Labor Day weekend is back in a big way. National and regional Blues musicians on 2 stages, the Texas Bar-b-Que cookoff, and local artisans provide a weekend you will not forget. The Inflata-Fun children's area insures that the whole family will have a blast.
