Jog over one of the world’s largest stay-cable bridges, take in two days of patriotic Independence Day celebrations, and celebrate all the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of Mexican culture. These are just a few of the experiences you’ll have when you check out the annual events in Baytown. It all kicks off with the Jail Break Run in February and ends with Christmas on Texas Avenue in December. If you’re planning a trip to Baytown, don’t miss any of these events while you’re in town.

Jail Break Run

Work up a sweat for a good cause at this annual half marathon and 5K in Baytown. A USA Track & Field certified event, the route takes you to the top of Baytown’s Fred Hartman Bridge from where you’ll enjoy a stunning view of the Houston Ship Channel. Half marathon entries are limited to 1,000 runners, so register as early as possible if you plan on participating.

July 4th Celebration

In most places, Independence Day is just a one-day celebration. Not so in Baytown, where the party goes on twice as long. Starting on July 3 with concerts, the party continues on July 4 with a five-mile run, a parade, and live music. The event, held at Baytown’s Bicentennial Park, concludes with a spectacular fireworks show.

Grito Fest

Food, games, art, and crafts are all part of this annual can't-miss celebration of Mexican culture. Nurture Nature Festival

Savor a fun day of educational activities for all ages at this free annual event held at the Baytown Nature Center in early April. Festivities include informational exhibits, live animal demonstrations, and games that provide a great way to learn about the flora and fauna of the Texas Gulf Coast.
