Events in Texarkana

If you’re waiting on a reason to visit Texarkana, its calendar gives you plenty of options. A few of their events go way back, others are brand new additions. It’s all to say that as much as Texarkana celebrates its history, it’s also a city that isn’t afraid to start new traditions.

Four States Fair and Rodeo

The Four States Fair and Rodeo started in 1945 and hasn’t slowed down. It goes for ten whole days at the Four States Fairgrounds, running April 3-12 in 2026. As its name suggests, it doesn’t just attract Texans, but rather those from Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma, as well. If you’re into people watching, it’s fun to guess who’s from which state.

The rodeo is PRCA-sanctioned and covers the full slate: bronc riding, bull riding, barrel racing, team roping, and steer wrestling. The midway handles the rest, along with livestock shows, pageants, exhibits, and the annual demolition derby. Attendance regularly clears 100,000, so book lodging early if you're driving in.

Pickle Fest Texarkana

Finally! A proper ode to the mighty pickle, unsung hero of cuisines all across the globe. All it took was one local pickle buff to question why the super cucumber didn’t have its own celebration. Everyone seemed to agree, so Pickle Fest was born!

The inaugural Pickle Fest ran in September 2025 with 120-plus vendors filling the Arts & Historic District, bringing delicious food, pickle-forward cocktails, novelty merch, games, and much more. Just how long will Pickle Fest last? Just like the pickle itself is likely to outlast everything else in your fridge, we think Pickle Fest is going to be with us for quite a long time.

Christmas Parade and Christmas on Main

Ice skating rink and Christmas decorations outside a historic downtown Texarkana building during Christmas on Main

December turns downtown into a full holiday production. The Christmas Parade brings thousands of spectators for floats, marching bands, and the classic Santa arrival at the tail end. Christmas on Main runs alongside it and brings an ice skating rink, food trucks lining the streets, and all-day Christmas movies at the Perot Theatre. If you're bringing kids to Texarkana at any point in the year, aim for this one.

Perot Theatre Concert Season

Nothing’s more reliable than the Perot Theatre’s seasonal calendar. Fall through spring, the theater hosts Texarkana Symphony Orchestra concerts, Broadway touring shows, ballet, jazz nights, and touring comedy acts. TSO is the region's only fully professional performing arts organization, and their season alone gives visitors a reason to plan a trip around a specific date. Ticket packages release in late summer for the year ahead, so keep an eye out!

Texarkana Farmers MarketVendors and shoppers at the Texarkana Farmers' Market outside the U.S. Post Office & Courthouse in downtown Texarkana

Yeah, it’s a seasonal fixture rather than an annual event, but still worth planning around if your trip lines up. The Texarkana Farmers Market runs on weekend mornings in the warmer months, featuring locally grown produce, baked goods, jams, preserves, and handmade crafts from vendors within a defined regional radius. If you can't catch the Texas-side market, the Gateway Farmers Market across the state line—running for over 25 years now—operates Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays on the Arkansas side.
