Fourth of July Dance & BBQ
Folks come to Post Park from all over Brewster County to celebrate American independence by kicking up their heels and chowing down on some good old-fashioned barbecue. The oldest event in the entire Big Bend area.

West Fest
Cabrito, or roast goat, is the star of the show at West Fest, a massive one-day cooking competition in Marathon that includes salsa, brisket, beans, and dessert. Grab a plate and enjoy live music and other entertainment.

Marathon 2 Marathon
The highest marathon in Texas at 4,080 feet and the town’s biggest event of the year, Marathon’s popular annual race includes a free pasta dinner, post-race lunch, and awards ceremony. M2M is a Boston Marathon qualifying event. In addition to the full marathon, you can opt to run the half, 10k, or 5k.
