Dogie Days in Dumas

Soak up all the sights, sounds, and smells of a good old-fashioned midway; dive into delicious barbecue; and take part in a more than 70 year Texas tradition at Dogie Days in Dumas. Fun, family-friendly, and free, Dogie Days is an annual event in Dumas that serves up carnival fun and excitement for four days in mid-June. Experience it all for yourself in Dumas, a quaint community settled 47 miles north of Amarillo in the High Plains of Texas.

Dogie Days, named after the cowboy term for a motherless calf, kicks off with the opening of the midway at McDade Park on the south side of Dumas. Try your luck at the traditional games and stop by the food booths, then come back on Thursday afternoon for savory smoked meats slow cooked by Genuine Pit Bar-B-Que. Stick around for the Dogie Days Parade on Saturday, with all the fun concluding in the evening with the announcement of the winner of a raffle for a new vehicle.

Sponsored by the Dumas Noon Lions Club, Dogie Days is a fantastic thing to do in Dumas with your friends and family this summer. For more information, please visit www.dumaschamber.com.
