Attractions in Winnsboro
Most of Winnsboro’s best attractions sit inside a few walkable blocks, which is quite convenient for those of us who'd rather not spend a weekend parallel parking. The arts center, the galleries, the antique dealers, and a good share of the murals cluster on or near the Bowery, the 1884 block at the center of downtown. Others, like Lake Winnsboro, are a short drive out.
Eagle's Nest Mini Golf
An American pop culture–themed miniature golf course on the edge of town, built with Elvis and King Kong rather than the usual windmills and ramps. A good hour for families looking to wind down for the day.

Historic Downtown Winnsboro and the Bowery
The Bowery opened in 1884 as a saloon district and now runs as a pedestrian block, complete with boutiques, galleries, and unique eateries. The surrounding Main Street District provides that old-timey feel with new-timey amenities. Winnsboro holds accreditation in the Texas Main Street program, which helps Texas towns maintain their character.
Lake Winnsboro
An 806-acre reservoir just southwest of town toward Quitman, TX. Serene and beautifully lush with emergent vegetation, the lake suits fishing, paddling, and a picnic better than anything with a motor. It’s one of those peaceful lakes you really have to pry yourself away from.

Winnsboro Center for the Arts
The granddaddy of Winnsboro's state-designated Cultural Arts District, running three spaces at one address: the Bowery Stage, an 88-seat listening room specializing in Americana genres; the Main Art Center for rotating exhibitions; and a Creative Learning Center for classes, workshops, and summer camps in art, music, and theater. The center is triptych of small-town Texas creativity.

Winnsboro Farmers' Market
It doesn’t get much more mom-and-pop than the Winnsboro Farmers’ Market. No matter your reason for visiting, you’re doing yourself a disservice if you don’t make the farmers’ market your temporary grocery store. Homecooked and homemade: souvenirs don’t come much more precious.
