Martin Luther King Jr Parade 
For the last 30 years Dallas has hosted one of the largest events in the country commemorating Dr. King’s life and legacy. The parade, a festive mix of floats and marching bands, goes from MLK Blvd & Lamar to Fair Park.

Dallas Blooms 
(late Feb-early April) 
It’s one of the first and most stunning signs of spring in Dallas. Nearly a half million spring bulbs, including tulips, daffodils and poppies take over the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden in East Dallas.

North Texas Irish Festival 
One of the country’s premier celebrations of Irish culture in all its forms, including world-renowned Celtic musicians, competitive Irish dancing and has a wide variety of delectable Irish chocolate, gooey cake and whiskey. 

St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival 
The colorful parade and all-day festivities are well known in Dallas and visitors can join in on the fun starting with an early-morning 5k run and rocking out at a concert later in the day.

Mesquite ProRodeo 
(Jun–late Aug) 
The very best cowboys compete in this vaunted rodeo for almost three months in classic events, including bareback, steer wrestling and bull riding. The prize money attracts top talent to this series. Mesquite is 14 miles straight east of Dallas.

Dallas Pride 
The vibrant, colorful parade and festival, in its third decade, takes place in Oaklawn, one of the most gay-friendly neighborhoods in the country. There’s also numerous parties and Bingo benefiting several organizations in the community. 

State Fair of Texas

Come ride one of the tallest Ferris wheels in North America and eat the world-famous corn dogs. Meet Big Tex, a huge celebrity that greets you at the gate, and try any of the unique fried food creations. The Fair has been around since 1886 and continues to be the biggest state fair in the nation.

Dallas Children’s Health Parade 
The festive parade, full of larger-than-life floats and spirited marching bands, travels through the streets of Downtown Dallas with more than 400,000 families taking a seat to watch along the route.  

BMW Dallas Marathon
Run across the city with people all around the world in the BMW Dallas Marathon. The course goes around many iconic Dallas landmarks like the Eye at the Joule, Granada Theater, and much more. The event raises money for the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
