Nature Quest

Calling all birders and lovers of nature! This two-weekend collection of field trips, collectively known as Nature Quest, showcases Uvalde County’s winged friends, from bluebirds and raptors to bats to insects, as well as native plants and wildflowers.

UTOPiAfest

If you're tired of sprawling concert festivals crawling with people, UTOPiAfest is for you. Two stages and 2,000 available tickets mean space to stretch out and enjoy rock, indie, folk, and electronic bands. A nine-hole disc golf tournament, hiking and mountain biking tours, and other outdoors events are also part of the festival.

Briscoe Ranch BBQ Cookoff

Forget coffee and pumpkin pie. Pass the barbecue! The South Texas CattleWomen host this officially recognized Texas state championship barbecue competition at the Uvalde County Fairplex, where teams compete for cash prizes for the best brisket, ribs, and chicken.
