Enchanted Rock State Natural Area
Enchanted Rock State Natural Area just outside of Fredericksburg is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful places in Texas. The centerpiece of the area is a 425-foot-tall pink granite dome, the largest of its kind in the United States. Climbing to the summit affords spectacular views of the Texas Hill Country. Hiking, backpacking, camping, and nature watching are some of the popular things to do at the park, which is open throughout the year. Advanced reservations are highly encouraged as the park reaches capacity on many days.

Fredericksburg Brewing Company
Fredericksburg Brewing Company is a local micro-brewery that crafts German-style beer in the heart of downtown Fredericksburg. An on-site restaurant and biergarten provide a fine place to relax in the afternoon, and overnight lodging is available as well. It is the oldest brewpub in Texas and features a rotating selection of brews.

Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site
Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site, located in Stonewall, Texas, is a vast outdoor area established to honor the contributions of President Johnson. National Museum of the Pacific War
Explore the broad history of the Pacific theater of World War II at the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg. An extensive set of exhibits, artifacts, and other displays cover the causes, events, and aftermath of the war in the Pacific. The National Museum of the Pacific War includes the George Bush Gallery of the Pacific War, the Plaza of the Presidents, Japanese Garden of Peace, Memorial Walk, the Pacific Combat Zone and an all-new Admiral Nimitz Gallery, which debuted in February 2020. Reservations are currently required.

Old Tunnel State Park
Old Tunnel State Park features an abandoned railroad tunnel that offers some of the best bat viewing in Texas. From May through October, more than three million Mexican free-tailed bats, as well as about 3,000 cave myotis bats, live within the tunnel. At dusk, these bats soar out from the tunnel to feed, a spectacular sight that can be observed from the park's viewing area. The park also has numerous hiking trails that offer great bird watching and wildlife viewing.

The Pioneer Museum in Fredericksburg offers a stunning look at the rich German heritage of Gillespie County and the Hill Country. Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm
Step back in time and see what life was like on the frontier for a Texas-German family in the Hill Country at the Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm. Reenactors dressed in period clothing tend to farm animals, gather eggs, and perform other chores as they were done in the late 19th century. The farm is located within the Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site and is open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
