Enchanted Rock State Natural Area
Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is a park about 20 miles north of Fredericksburg widely regarded as one of the most beautiful places in Texas. The centerpiece of the area is a 425-foot-tall pink granite dome, the largest of its kind in the United States. Climbing to the summit affords spectacular views of the Texas Hill Country. Hiking, backpacking, camping, and nature watching are some of the popular things to do at the park, which is open throughout the year.

Fredericksburg Theater Company

Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course
Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course features 18 challenging holes nestled among the rolling hills and oak forests of the scenic Hill Country. The public, par 71 course consists of 6,686 yards, 46 bunkers, and water on 10 of the 18 holes. Tee times, lessons, and a fitting can be scheduled on the course's website.

Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park
Explore the boyhood home of President Lyndon B. Johnson and the LBJ Ranch, also known as the "Texas Whitehouse," at the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park, situated on the southwestern side of Johnson City. The park includes the log cabin built by Johnson's grandparents in the 1860's, which you can reach by traversing a less than one mile hiking trail. Admission is free and the park is open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site
Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site, located between Fredericksburg and Johnson City, is a vast outdoor area established to honor the contributions of President Johnson. The park is well known for its picturesque scenery and fields of vibrant wildflowers. It also has a visitor center full of memorabilia related to President Johnson, a swimming pool, and the Sauer-Beckmann Farmstead, a living history farm.

National Museum of the Pacific War
Explore the broad history of the Pacific theater of World War II at the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg. An extensive set of exhibits, artifacts, and other displays cover the causes, events, and aftermath of the war. The museum also includes a section about Chester Nimitz, one of the most important admirals in the war who was born in Fredericksburg. Living history reenactments are held monthly from March through October.

Old Tunnel State Park
Old Tunnel State Park features an abandoned railroad tunnel that offers some of the best bat viewing in Texas. From May through October, more than three million Mexican free-tailed bats, as well as about 3,000 cave myotis bats, live within the tunnel. At dusk, these bats soar out from the tunnel to feed, a spectacular sight that can be observed from the park's viewing area. The park also has numerous hiking trails that offer great bird watching and wildlife viewing.

Pedernales Brewing Company
Sample a wide variety of award-winning craft beer at Pedernales Brewing Company on the south side of Fredericksburg. The brewery welcomes thirsty pint seekers to its tap room, which is open Friday and Saturday. Tours are offered Saturday afternoons when the brewery is not in production.

Pioneer Museum
The Pioneer Museum in Fredericksburg offers a stunning look at the rich German heritage of Gillespie County and the Hill Country. Various displays of artifacts and other items from the town's early settlers are on display within the 3.5-acre museum complex, which also features numerous structures similar to the kind you would have seen 150 years ago. This includes the Vereins Kirche Museum, one of Fredericksburg's iconic structures modeled after the first public building in town. The museum is open Monday through Saturday during standard business hours.

Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm
Step back in time and see what life was like on the frontier for a Texas-German family in the Hill Country at the Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm. Reenactors dressed in period clothing tend to farm animals, gather eggs, and perform other chores as they were done in the late 19th century. The farm is located within the Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site and is open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
