First Shot Cook-Off
The First Shot Cook-Off is a three-day food festival held in the third weekend of September that includes cooking contests for chili, grilled cheese sandwiches, and barbecue. Along with the food, there’s an antique tractor exhibit, arts and crafts vendors, a tractor pull, and a 5K run.

Come and Take It Celebration
The first shots fired in the Texas Revolution are commemorated at the Come and Take It Celebration in Gonzales, a family-friendly three-day festival held in early October. A parade, carnival, battle reenactment, car show, and plenty of live music are just part of the celebration, which is located in downtown Gonzales. Admission to the festival is free.

Annual Winterfest Historic Homes Tour
Gonzales is full of spectacular historic homes, and one of the best ways to see them is by embarking on the Annual Winterfest Historic Homes Tour. The tour takes you from one 19th or early 20th century house to another, offering the ideal way to see what Gonzales looked like more than 100 years ago. These tours are offered for two days in early December.
