The Wheels of Hope Car Show
On one day in late April, Garland’s downtown square is filled with eye-catching antique and classic cars that are participating in this annual event. Admission to the car show is free, and proceeds from other purchases benefit The Hope Clinic, a local non-profit that provides medical care to local residents.

Urban Market
Garland’s diverse arts scene is on full display during the Urban Flea, an outdoor market held on the second Saturday of May through November (with breaks in July and August) in Downtown Garland. Browse stalls of hand-selected vintage and handmade goods, then take a break by getting something tasty at one of the food trucks while you take in the live music.

Cinco de Mayo
Cinco de Mayo in Downtown Garland, Texas! Sounds of Summer Concert Series
Garland’s annual Sounds of Summer Concert Series is an excellent way to spend a summer evening under the beautiful Texas stars. Experience a laid-back, relaxing evening in beautiful Downtown Garland while soaking in the soothing sounds of jazz. This free event features music, vendors, coffee and good eats and is fun for the whole family! Bring your chairs and blankets for this cool jazz series in the square. Music begins at 7 p.m. and all concerts end with beautiful fireworks displays at 9:30 p.m.

Star-Spangled Spectacular
Great music, delicious food, games, and fun for all ages, and a spectacular fireworks show; what better way to observe our nation’s Independence Day? All the festivities take place at the Firewheel Town Center shopping mall, where vendors join in the celebration by offering summer sales that can’t be beaten. Admission is free, but you should consider arriving early as onsite parking is limited.

Garland Fair Fare
Get your fix of “fair fare” in one convenient, walkable location.  Eateries around the downtown Garland’s historic Square offer a tantalizing menu of all things “fit to be fried” or served on a stick throughout the entire month of September.  Bacon funnel cakes, chicken fried burnt ends, fried chocolate dipped strawberries are just a few examples of what you can enjoy.  There is no admission fee, food items are reasonably priced (from $5 - 10), and everything can be enjoyed outdoors.

Garland Guzzler 0.5K Race & Oktoberfest
Underachievers unite for a 0.5k race on the Downtown Garland Square.  That is no typo; this is a POINT 5K which is only…546 yards, 500 meters, or 1,638 feet.  Join your fellow racers for an evening of Oktoberfest themed racing, games, food, and of course live music. We hope to see everyone on their best or “wurst” behavior.

Dia de Los Muertos
The City of Garland, Garland Association for Hispanic Affairs, Garland Independent School District, and International Leadership of Texas - Garland team up to bring you Dia De Los Muertos celebrating the history and purpose of the event in Garland. Performances include various student performances from Mariachi to Ballet Folklorico and Matachines.  Attendees can enjoy bounce houses, food and craft vendors, a Cultural Art Show, and Altar Displays.

Christmas on the Square
Fun in the snow is guaranteed at Garland’s annual Christmas celebration, with tubing and snowman building, train rides, food and crafts, live entertainment, and photos with the man in the red suit.
