City Lake Aquatic Center

The City Lake Aquatic Center is one of Mesquite's premier water destinations. Equipped with multiple pools, water play areas, and water slides, this is a great place for the family. It also is the host of the Dive-In Movie and Luau Pool Party.

Florence Ranch Homestead

The 1870s home of a local icon, the Florence family, is now an educational museum that takes guests on a journey back through life on the prairie. Informed docents will guide you on a tour of this excellent example of late 19th-century rural Texas architecture. Open for tours on Fridays from 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and on the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This 5,500-seat multipurpose building is the home of both the Mesquite Rodeo and the Mesquite Outlaws, one of the newest members of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL). Catch the ProRodeo Athletes (PRCA) qualifying rodeo events Saturday nights from June through August, and home soccer games from November through March.

Mesquite Arts Center

Be sure to make the thriving Mesquite art scene a stop on your next stay. The Mesquite Symphony Orchestra and the Mesquite Community Band consistently perform a dynamic and moving season every year. An evening at the symphony makes for the perfect date night. The Mesquite Arts Theatre always brings the laughs and nostalgia through a variety of productions. The Mesquite Arts Center also plays host to many free music concerts, art exhibits, and programs during the year.

Mesquite Golf Club

Pick up your golf clubs and head to the award-winning course at the Mesquite Golf Club. The fantastically maintained 18-hole municipal course is new and improved with 18 new sand traps; three new holes, expanded tee boxes, Champion Bermuda greens, and 20 new bunkers. The course is also the home of The First Tee of Greater Dallas, offering children aged seven to 17 beginner-level instruction during the summer.


Mesquite Heritage Trail

At 4.25 miles long, Heritage Trail is Mesquite's largest recreational facility that connects residents with shopping areas, schools, the Mesquite Golf Club, other trailheads, and more. Walk, run, bike, or work out at the exercise station to break a sweat in the great outdoors.

Opal Lawrence Historical Park

This 1880s homestead holds the rare distinction of being listed on the National Register of Historic Places, named a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark, and recognized as a Century Family Farm by the Texas Department of Agriculture. Visitors can explore the virtually unchanged Lawrence home, as well as outbuildings, every Tuesday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to get an idea of farmstead living at the turn of the 20th century. If you cannot make a tour, please be sure to stop by one of the many annual events held here, including Treasure Barn Sale and Nibbles and Sips.


Town East Mall

Mesquite offers more than 3 million square feet of retail shopping at the intersection of IH-635 and I-30 with Town East Mall as the centerpiece. Many major retailers including Dillard's, Macy's, JCPenney, and Dick's Sporting Goods anchor Town East Mall. The mall has almost 200 stores as well as a lively food court. It is one of the largest malls in the eastern Texas area, drawing in shoppers from throughout the region. Shop till you drop at Market East Shopping Center, which includes many other retailers including Target, Academy Sports and Outdoors, Michael's, Ulta, HomeGoods, and Kirkland's. While you enjoy the enormous amount of shopping available in Mesquite, take a break to taste the variety of foods served up by area restaurants. From famous chains like Olive Garden and Chili's, the mall area has a menu of places to satisfy anyone's appetite.
